Could I urge caution, Thanet Observer! Whilst I abhor mindless cruelty to animals, as you clearly do, please bear in mind that until The Mayor of Margate has been dealt with by the magistrates, we must assume innocence until proven guilty.
The very fact that he finds himself in this position might lead one to wonder why he has not already resigned but that is his perogative. You will find that some of us noted your item in August!

Of course the rule of law must apply, and 12 good men and true etc etc, but I'm guessing that if the RSPCA are bringing the prosecution, then they must have good reasons behind it, especially as they've picked on 'a Mayor' and know the publicity that that will generate.
The Isle of Thanet Gazette say they will be reporting it fully, even thou he's got it moved to a Medway court.
Guilty or Not Guilty...we shall see.
