Just been having a trawl through the local blogs, getting back up to speed on the scandals etc, and i was interested to see on Thanet Star blog that the KMfm licence is up for grabs, perhaps the local bloggers should club together, buy the licence and get the station back to it's truly 'local' status.
"KMFM Thanet licence available
Ofcom is inviting anyone interested in applying for the licence currently held by KMFM Thanet to submit a declaration of intent before 3pm on September 2nd 2008."
Personally I'm fed up with hearing about milk bottles stolen off a doorstep in Tunbridge Wells, or the on the hour News provided by Sky News ( read off their website more like). Most of the shows are run across the whole KM network so lack the local touch, or recorded. And as I've reported before, the seem it ok to repeat their own new news and sports bulletins a week later ( computer glitch blamed)
So what about "Thanet Blog 107.2fm" ? Providing a voice to the written word. Scare the living daylights out of the authorities.... and what about Eastcliff Richard's Sunday Request Show, should be interesting ?
Suggestions for other programming gratefully received, and we'll knock something up on the back of a KM car sticker to post to Ofcom.
